Im November 1999 findet in Seattle ein Treffen der Welthandelsorganisationen statt. Tausende von Demonstranten treffen in der Stadt ein, um gegen dieses Treffen zu protestieren. Unter den Demonstranten sind auch Django, Sam, Lou und Jay, die alle aus persönlichen Gründen in Seattle sind. Als aus der Demonstration durch den wütenden Mob ein gewalttätiger Aufstand wird, müssen sie sich entscheiden, wofür es sich zu kämpfen lohnt.
