Mit der Besetzung der Krim 2014 folgen unter Putin erneut zahlreiche Repressionen. Mit politischer Willkür werden Tataren verhaftet und zu langen Strafen verurteilt. Der Film zeigt mehrere Frauen, deren Männer inhaftiert sind und mit großem Engagement versuchen, mit Klagen die Situation ihrer Männer zu verbessern, die nur sporadisch Kontakt zu ihrer Familie haben.

Return is a methodical construction of the approach of an individual towards an unseen goal, which assumes metaphorical significance.
