In der Zeit der „Großen Depression“ wurden die USA geradezu überschwemmt mit Pfandleihhäusern, in denen Menschen ihre Habseligkeiten in Zahlung gaben, um schnell und unbürokratisch an Bargeld zu kommen. Die Depression ging, die Idee blieb erhalten. Die Realityserie "Die Drei vom Pfandhaus" begleitet Familie Harrison, die seit 1988 in Las Vegas ein solches Pfandleihhaus betreibt. Die Zuschauer können erleben, welch ungewöhnliche Objekte bei den Harrisons über den Ladentisch gehen und wie schwierig es für Firmengründer Richard Harrison, seinen Sohn Rick und dessen Sohn Corey manchmal ist, den Wert der Dinge zu schätzen. Neben historischen Automaten, Waffen aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, seltenen Autogrammen aus den 50er Jahren und Computern aus den Achtzigern kann da auch schon mal ein Luxus-Oldtimer dabei sein.
