Das Wohnhaus und die Mühle wurden im unteren Teil des Tales in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Balmhornbach-Wasserfall aufgebaut, die Szenen in der „Via Mala“ wurden bei der Brücke in der engen Klus zwischen Tal und der Gemeinde Kandersteg gedreht.
