Ruppig im Umgang mit seinen Patienten und Kollegen, gelingt es ihm jedoch immer wieder, schnelle und akurate Diagnosen zu stellen, nachdem er seinen Patienten scheinbar keine Aufmerksamkeit gezollt hat. Obwohl sein Verhalten oft ans Unsoziale grenzt, ist House ein herausragender, wenn auch eigenbrödlerischer Mediziner, dessen unkonventionelle Denkweise und tadellosen Instinkte ihm großen Respekt eingebracht haben.
