Shibusawa Eiichi was born in 1840 to a farmer’s family. He grew up helping his family with work, which was to manufacture and sell indigo production and also silk farming. He left his hometown at the age of 23 and began working for the government. He later traveled to Paris and learned about banking. Upon his return to Japan, he helped build up the first modern bank in Japan. He eventually became a founder or supporter to about 500 companies and was involved with about 600 public services, including education for women.

Als Kouhei im Schwarzwald versucht ein geheimnisvolles Mädchen in einem Schloss zu fotografieren, wird er von dem Vampirmädchen Hazuki gebissen. Durch Kouheis Blut ist es Hazuki möglich das Schloss, in dem sie gefangen ist, zu verlassen. Hazuki folgt Kouhei zurück nach Japan und stellt dort verwundert fest, dass Kouhei ihr nicht gehorchen will, obwohl er eigentlich durch den Biss zu ihrem Diener werden sollte. Es kommen aber bald weitere Vampire, um Hazuki, die Tochter des Vampirkönigs, zurück ins Schloss zu bringen.

Die Geschichte spielt in einem Sommer des 21. Jahrhunderts. Durch eine unbekannte Katastrophe sind in Tokios Shinjuku keine Menschen mehr. Das einzige, was zurückbleibt, sind die Donyatsuhybriden, eine Mischung aus Katze und Donut und die Bagaru, eine Mischung aus Katze und Bagel.
