This Best Short Subject Academy Award winning film begins in the spring of 1940, just before the Nazi occupation of the Benelux countries, and ends immediately after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It chronicles how the people of "Main Street America", the country's military forces, and its industrial base were completely transformed when the decision was made to gear up for war. Original footage is interspersed with contemporary newsreels and stock footage.

Mit Hilfe der zusätzlichen Worte unter Anwendung rhetorischer Mittel in seinem Kommentar werden die Zusammenhänge zwischen Bild und Kontext hervorgehoben und verdeutlicht, um andere Interpretationen auszuschließen. Romms Methode der filmischen Montage folgt der rhetorischen Figur der Ironie und ist Ansatz und Versuch zugleich, durch Aufdeckung und Zerstörung der Sehkonventionen des Zuschauers, die Geschehnisse des Zweiten Weltkrieges besser begreifbar zu machen.

Jam Films S is a Japanese omnibus movie. It was released by Phantom FIlm in Japan on January 15, 2005. The movie follows 2002’s Jam Films and its 2004 sequel Jam Films 2. This time around, the overall theme is “S” which stands for succession, success, and special. There are seven shorts, all produced by Ryuhei Kitamura. Included are the shorts Tuesday by Kenji Sonoda, Heaven Sent by Ryuichi Takatsu, Blouse by Hitoshi Ishikawa, New Horizon by Ryo Teshima, Suberidai by Yuichi Abe, Alpha by Daisaburo Harada, and Suit by Masaki Hamamoto.
