Wer sie besitzt, erlangt die Macht die Welt zu revolutionieren und um sie zu bekommen, muss man sich in einem Schwertduell messen. Ohne genau zu wissen warum, stürzt sich Utena in dieses gefährliche Spiel und bald wird klar, dass sie und Anthy ihre eigene Vergangenheit bewältigen müssen, um eine neue Zukunft für sich zu finden.

Seine Uraufführung erlebte er am 11. August 1935, anlässlich der Eröffnung einer Ausstellung über das Werk von Lotte Reiniger im Berliner Filmkunstkino „Die Kamera“.
