„Murderball“-Spieler sind Spitzensportler. Allerdings mit einer Besonderheit: Wer „Murdeball“ spielt sitzt im Rollstuhl. Abhängig geworden vom Rollstuhl sind sie durch Verkehrsunfälle, Schlägereien, Schussverletzungen oder Infekte. Das Spiel dass diese Männer spielen heißt natürlich nicht wirklich „Murderball“. Vielmehr spielen die Männer Rollstuhlrugby. In ihren Spezialrollstühlen haben sie immer nur ein Ziel vor Augen, den Sieg in jedem Spiel und die Goldmedaille bei der Weltmeisterschaft im Rollstuhlrugby.
