In addition to screening films for the public, AFA houses a film museum, research library and art gallery. The event, which raised money for the Archives and celebrated the life and work of avant-garde film maker Stan Brakhage, featured Sonic Youth providing an improvised instrumental collaboration with silent Brakhage’s films. The band performed with drummer/percussionist Tim Barnes (Essex Green, Jukeboxer, Silver Jews).

Am Ende des ersten Teils hatten sich Surfer und Bar-Besitzer Fin und seine Ex-Frau April miteinander versöhnt. Nun brechen sie zu einer Reise nach New York auf, um dort ihre alte Highschool-Freundin Skye zu besuchen. Was ein netter Ausflug sein sollte, nimmt bald eine beunruhigende Wende, denn die Ereignisse überschlagen sich erneut. Wiederum legt sich ein bizarrer Wirbelsturm über die Stadt: Es handelt sich um einen Sharknado. Das ungewöhnliche Wettersystem hatte dafür gesorgt, dass der Sturm an der Küste einen Haischwarm aufgesaugt hatte, die nun um die Freiheitsstatue ebenso wie über den Broadway tänzeln. Natürlich lassen sich die Sharknado-Experten dies nicht bieten, sondern gehen sogleich in die Offensive, indem sie dem Sturm mit Kettensägen und selbstgebauten Bomben trotzen.

Eine Gruppe von sechs Freunden wird auf ihrem Roadtrip von einem platten Reifen aufgehalten. Gelassen setzen sich die Beifahrer in den Schatten des SUVs, während Fahrer Jeff den Reifen wechselt. Als Sara nach ihm sieht, klafft ein Loch in seinem Schädel - er wurde erschossen! Schnell wird klar, dass auch der Reifen nicht zufällig geplatzt ist. Ein Scharfschütze versteckt sich irgendwo im Umkreis und kann jederzeit von überall aus den Abzug betätigen.
