Im Oktober 2013 hat der kontroverse Streetart-Künstler Banksy einen New Yorker Wohnsitz in Beschlag genommen und von dort aus sein Projekt „Better Out Than In“ durchgeführt: Täglich enthüllte er ein neues Bild oder Kunstwerk an einem zuvor nicht bekannt gegebenen Ort in der Stadt und versetzte damit die New Yorker Kunstszene, zahlreiche Fans sowie die Medien in Aufruhr. Als Material für die Dokumentation über die 31 Tage andauernde Kunsthysterie dienten u. a. diverse nutzergenerierte Inhalte der Bewohner und der Banksy-Jäger, die sich in dem Monat auf die Spur des mysteriösen Künstler-Phantoms begaben. Mithilfe von Youtube-Videos, Instagram-Bildern sowie Mitschnitten von lokalen Fernsehsendern werden neben den Kunstwerken auch die Reaktionen der Interessierten gezeigt, die damit ebenfalls zum Teil der Aktion wurden.
