She does this in her I Puritani and her Anna Bolena, less so in Roberto Deveraux and Maria Stuarda(both sets). Listen to Addio del passato and the Sempre Libra...ravishing, yes, but there are again those nuances learned from Callas that she makes her own. A very singualr perform,ance, and extremely moving with its detail and cry for pity throughout..from the start even. Neil Schicoff is excellent, not an unworthy Alfredo at all! His is a great lyric tenor voice that should have been in the top line.

Halfway between the experimental, psychotronic cinema and avant-garde cinema, it´s a very extravagant version of the character, softened in the second incursion of the Trauma Group in the character: "Peter Parker is Spider-Man" (1996), closer than this to the original comic.

Mit wunderschönen Kostümen und Requisiten gelingt Ihm eine klassische aber trotzdem zeitgemäße Interpretation, die jeden Opernliebhaber optisch und auch akustisch erfreuen wird Sängerisch lässt die Produktion keine Wünsche offen: Das Ehepaar Anna Netrebko als Leonora und Yusif Eyvazov als Manrico, außerdem Dolora Zajick als berührende Azucena und Luca Salsi als dämonischer Conte di Luna zeigen höchstes sängerisches und darstellerisches Niveau. Kongenial agieren Chor und Orchester der Arena di Verona unter der temperamentvollen Leitung von Pier Giorgio Morandi.

Sie fußt dort, wo sich die Traditionslinien der barocken Zauberoper mit der italienischen Buffa und dem Wiener Singspiel treffen, wo alle Wunderlichkeiten denkbar und erlaubt sind. Die Inszenierung von Peter Ustinov kommt allen entgegen, die eine primär märchenhafte Umsetzung lieben, das Ambiente ist traditionell,konventionell. Sängerisch ist ein hervorragendes Ensemble aufgeboten.

Giuseppe Verdis berühmtestes und meistgespieltes Stück machte die Arena di Verona zu einem beliebten Opernfestival-Veranstaltungsort. Mit ihrer gigantischen Bühnendimension und dem historischen Charme eines antiken römischen Amphitheaters liegt die Arena zudem in einer der schönsten Städte der Welt. In einer fulminanten Inszenierung von Gianfranco De Bosio lebt das Original von 1913 wieder auf. Im Mittelpunkt der Handlung stehen der ägyptische Feldherr Radames und die äthiopische Prinzessin Aida, die in Ägypten gefangen gehalten wird.
