Filmed April 12, 2003 at a benefit concert held at and for The Anthology Film Archives, the international center for the preservation, study, and exhibition of avant-garde and independent cinema. In addition to screening films for the public, AFA houses a film museum, research library and art gallery. The event, which raised money for the Archives and celebrated the life and work of avant-garde film maker Stan Brakhage, featured Sonic Youth providing an improvised instrumental collaboration with silent Brakhage’s films. The band performed with drummer/percussionist Tim Barnes (Essex Green, Jukeboxer, Silver Jews).

The Pill

Pretty Bloody: The Women of Horror is a television documentary film that premiered on the Canadian cable network Space on February 25, 2009. The hour-long documentary examines the experiences, motivations and impact of the increasing number of women engaged in horror fiction, with producers Donna Davies and Kimberlee McTaggart of Canada's Sorcery Films interviewing actresses, film directors, writers, critics and academics. The documentary was filmed in Toronto, Canada; and in Los Angeles, California and New York City, New York in the US.

WWE WrestleMania VIII was the eighth annual WrestleMania. It took place on April 5, 1992 at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis, Indiana. The only WrestleMania officially recognized by WWE.com to have featured more than one headlining match, its card included two equally-promoted main events. In the first, WWF Champion Ric Flair defended his title against Randy Savage, and in the second, Hulk Hogan faced Sid Justice. As a consequence of the double main event, WrestleMania VIII carried two taglines: "The Macho/Flair Affair!" and "Friendship Torn Apart!" Notable matches on the undercard included WWF Intercontinental Champion Roddy Piper defending against Bret Hart, and WWF Tag Team Champions Money Inc. defending against The Natural Disasters.

This film is a collaboration between musician and animator. The musician received a silent film and composed a score with no direction from the animator. In turn the animator created new visuals inspired by the music. Energy is built up and chaotically released but the leg eventually finds its footing.

A documentary presenting the behind the scenes of Rob Reiner's classic "Misery", with Reiner himself, Kathy Bates, James Caan, Frances Sternhagen, writer William Goldman, Barry Sonnenfeld (the film's cinematographer) presenting their views on the film years later of its release and the impact "Misery" had in their professional lives.

Filmed at the Chaplin Studios, Los Angeles on January 22, 1917 -- this footage was intended as a promotional film to help raise funds for the "British War Loan Bond Appeal Drive" (in addition, Lauder established the Harry Lauder Million Pound Fund for wounded soldiers and sailors in September 1917). The film was never completed or released at the time.

A woman arrives in Lebanon in search of a missing man, whom she met in Iceland a few years ago. Here, the buildings and landscapes still bear the traces of past conflicts, and the missing friend's absence is haunting the deserted and labyrinthine streets of Beirut. The siren song of the sea draws her to the south, towards Earth's mystical centre.

A series of vignettes with a loose plot. Featured are Frank Morgan, Groucho Marx, Frank McHugh, Robert Benchley and The Brian Sisters. Not bad, more interesting for the historical significance than for entertainment.

Minako is at the age where her father is more like an alien to her than a person. The situation is exacerbated when he comes home drunk one night and tries to climb on top of her. Minako's mother deserted them for another man when Minako was a child. Now working as a hostess, she has little time for her own six year-old daughter, Yu, Minako's half sister. Both girls are yearning for their mother's love. Minako runs into Yu at a game center in the mall and proposes they take a trip. She changes out of her school uniform and into adult clothes and the pair hops on an overnight bus out of the city.

Tommy gelingt es, nicht nur das Zuchthaus sondern auch die Staatsgrenze hinter sich zu lassen. Ironie des Schicksals Kurz nach der Flucht fällt die Mauer. Einige Monate später treffen sich die Kumpels wieder und die Situation ist verkehrt. Inzwischen ist Heiko zum bekennenden Neonazi geworden. Wieder gerät ihre Freundschaft zwischen die politischen Fronten...

Das intelligente Leben auf der Erde unterteilt sich in drei Arten: Menschen, Dämonen und Zwischenwesen. Über allen Gruppen regiert als mächtigstes Wesen der Chojin. Nach jeweils 3000 Jahren schaut der Chojin auf der Erde vorbei, und weil sich dieser Zeitraum gerade jährt, wird der Meister von Freunden und Feinden bereits heiß erwartet. Niemand weiß jedoch, in welcher irdischen Form der Gott erscheinen wird, und so sind alle ziemlich überrascht, als er sich zunächst in einem heftig pubertierenden Tokioter Schuljungen manifestiert. Dann aber erfüllt der Chojin alle Erwartungen und veranstaltet nach ein paar kleineren Gemetzeln einen zünftigen Weltuntergang...

Terry (die u.a. Werbetexte für Tampons schreibt) und Jerry (ein Englischprofessor) haben ein nicht ganz unerhebliches Eheproblem: Jerry (Ben Stiller) muss beim Sex ständig reden, Terry (Catherine Keener) dagegen mag es lieber ruhig. Auch sonst klappt es in der Beziehung nicht wirklich und so ziehen sie ihre Konsequenzen: Jerry beginnt eine Affäre mit der Frau seines besten Freundes Barry, und Terri beginnt eine Beziehung mit der lesbischen Cheri (Nastassja Kinski). Doch damit fangen die Probleme aller Beteiligten erst an... Gespickt mit egoistischem Machtstreben, Neurosen, Sex und alltäglichen Hinterhältigkeiten inszenierte Neil LaBute eine bissig-zynische Komödie, die die kaputten menschlichen Beziehungen beleuchtet.

Das Verhältnis zwischen den verheirateten Paolo und Diana könnte nicht besser sein. Die beiden führen eine offene Beziehung, in der sich Diana immer wieder unterschiedlichen Sexabenteuern hingibt. Ihre Affären beschreibt sie ihrem Mann und schafft es auf diese Weise, dass es im Bett zwischen Paolo und ihr immer noch aufregend ist. Das ändert sich aber, als Diana mit Alphones anbandelt. Denn der neue Liebhaber hat eine ganz spezielle Vorliebe. Er ist auf die Hinterteile seiner Partnerinnen fixiert. Das löst bei Paolo starke Eifersuchtsgefühle aus, denen die Beziehung zwischen ihm und seiner Frau nicht standhalten kann. Statt sich weiterhin mit ihrem Mann zu befassen, flüchtet sich Diana in immer neue amouröse Abenteuer. Darüber ist Paolo jedoch gar nicht glücklich.

Das Model Kioko langweilt sich in ihrem Appartement zu Tode, während sie auf einen Redakteur wartet, der sie interviewen will – schon seit einer Weile ist sie in einem goldenen Käfig gefangen und von ihrem eigenen Erfolg angeödet. Um sich die Zeit zu vertreiben und gegen die Müdigkeit anzukämpfen, beginnt sie mit ihrer Assistentin ein Spiel, in dem es um Erniedrigung und das Dominieren geht. Nach und nach tauschen die Rollen von Chefin und Untergebener. Doch wie viel davon ist überhaupt Realität?
