Nachdem die Verbrecher durch Beethoven hinter Schloss und Riegel gebracht und die geheimen Informationen sichergestellt werden, will die Familie Beethoven George zurückgeben. Da aber Georges Familie in Europa aufgehalten wurde, darf Richard Beethoven zur Freude der Kinder noch ein ganzes Jahr lang behalten.

Als sie bereits am ersten Tag durch einem Hexenschuss außer Gefecht gesetzt wird, ist Herr Kees auf sich allein gestellt. Der unerbittliche Zeitplan der Direktorin sitzt ihm und den Kindern fest im Nacken. Doch mit viel Fantasie und der Schusseligkeit von Herrn Kees wird auch das ein großes Vergnügen. Geografie lässt sich auch am Strand gut betreiben und Gruselgeschichten sind ja auch Literatur. Die Klasse amüsiert sich köstlich, doch Tobias grübelt viel über den Tod seines Vaters nach. Als Tobias eines morgens verschwunden ist, beginnt Kees an seinen Fähigkeiten als Lehrer zu zweifeln…
