Die muslimische Minderheit wurde 1944 unter Stalin von der Krim vertrieben, Ende der 80er gab es nach Protesten ein Zugeständnis von Gorbatschow. Mit der Besetzung der Krim 2014 folgen unter Putin erneut zahlreiche Repressionen. Mit politischer Willkür werden Tataren verhaftet und zu langen Strafen verurteilt. Der Film zeigt mehrere Frauen, deren Männer inhaftiert sind und mit großem Engagement versuchen, mit Klagen die Situation ihrer Männer zu verbessern, die nur sporadisch Kontakt zu ihrer Familie haben.

Master armourer Tomás has young wife Alena, of whom he is very jealous. One day the ruler of town sees Alena and decides to win her over for himself.
