When Max (Eric Stoltz), urged on by "Risk Management," a self-help book for the hapless, decides to approach his fellow ferry-commuter Rory (Susanna Thompson), he hopes simply saying hello might change his life for the better. But Rory only accepts contact by contract. Max finds he can play along. As the two negotiate a whirlwind relationship on paper, Rory slowly lets down her guard; but when her unresolved personal life intervenes in the form of Donald (Kevin Tighe), Max must manage a little more risk than he bargained on.

During one of their night stays, three college teens play a silly prank where they randomly call people and tell them that they know who that person is and what they have done. What will happen when things take a dangerous turn?

Hello explores changes in two people’s working lives: a Mexican trash picker who separates and collects recyclable materials from landfills to sell by the kilo, and a German freelance computer-animation designer working for the advertising industry in Berlin. The double interview is controlled and manipulated by a computer-generated severed hand which Maria describes as an object once discovered in the trash while working in the violent northern town of Mexicali. This CGI hand was in turn produced by Max, who was born with no arms, and sought refuge in computer-imaging as a means to operate and manipulate a digital reality.

The film tells the story of three best friends named Ako, Aki and Awang, who are well-known in their village for their mischievous and humourous pranks. The trio work for Pak Man. One day, they are assigned to pick up his daughter Misha, who has just returned from overseas and dreams of becoming a doctor. The trio have been in love with her for a long time but she does not pay them any heed. When Misha is robbed by a snatch thief one day, she is rescued by a doctor named Shafiq. Her face reminds the doctor of his late wife, and he begins to pursue her, which annoys the trio.

His relation with the reporters is conflicted and his own daughter is missing. The statute of limitations for the Case 64 will expire in one year. Then a kidnapping case, similar to the Case 64, takes place. The rift between the criminal investigation department and police administration department deepens. Mikami challenges the case as a public relations secretary.

Ausgezeichnet als bester Dokumentarfilm auf dem 'Seattle Interntional Film Festival', zeigt Autor Daniel G. Karslake mit diesem Film, wie gewisse Bibelstellen von bigotten religiösen Hardlinern schon immer perfide zur Verfolgung Homosexueller benutzt worden sind. Die Stigmatisierung gleichgeschlechtlicher Liebe mit bewusst falsch interpretierten Bibelzitaten und aus dem Kontext gerissenen Stellen hat zig Tausende von Menschen in Verzweiflung und in den Tod getrieben. Karslake beweist, dass Religion und Homosexualität sehr wohl vereinbar sind. Die Fokussierung des Films auf Eltern, die zu ihren schwulen Kindern stehen, macht diese Doku zu einem kraftvollen, höchst positiven Film, der klare Antworten gibt. Er ist provokativ, unterhaltsam und brillant!

Bill Maher, seines Zeichens amerikanischer Stand-Up-Comedian, Produzent und Darsteller, ist bekannt dafür, Religionen, Kirche und die staatlichen Verbindungen dazu kritisch zu durchleuchten und der Lächerlichkeit preiszugeben. Mit "Religious" geht er nun erstmals in Spielfilmlänge der Frage auf den Grund, was Religion eigentlich bezwecken will und frei nach dem Motto "Ich mache mich nicht lächerlich über Religion, sie macht es sich selbst" sucht er u. a. einen Ex-Schwulen, jetzt Priester mit Kleinfamilie, auf, der felsenfest behauptet es gibt keine schwulen Menschen, einen Vergnügungspark der die Auferstehung als Attraktion anbietet oder einen Prediger, der felsenfest von sich behauptet der Neugeborene Jesus zu sein. Aber nicht nur Christen müssen bei Maher dran glauben, auch Moslems, Juden, Mormonen, Scientologen kriegen ihr Fett weg.

Arbeit ist eine Sucht, ein Fetisch, ein Mantra, das uns tagtäglich umgibt. Sie ist zugleich Sicherheit, Selbstbestätigung und Existenzberechtigung. In Zeiten von Wirtschaftskrise und rasantem Arbeitsplatzabbau hinterfragt Frohes Schaffen diesen „heiligen“ Lebenssinn der Arbeit.
