"Maintenance by any Means" is about two maintenance men vying for the position of maintenance supervisor in an apartment complex. The maintenance men must compete with each other in order to get the job left open by the former Maintenance Supervisor. They need evaluations by the people who live at the apartments for every work order they finish. The problem is the renters themselves. Each one they run into has their own set of interesting problems. The maintenance men soon discover that a positive review may be hard to come by. Fixing broken down items in the apartments is the least of their worries. Finally one of the maintenance men must win the contest, by any means.

Silence dominates the work, as does the screen rectangle, which cuts off the “image” from a life time-space continuum and imposes upon the image its particular character. Within it, there is a play between tonalities, textures, large and small shapes.

Dabei lernt Alex die hübsche Janine Elson kennen. Er versucht das Schwert zu stehlen, wird jedoch von der Polizei gefasst und von seinem Kumpanen verraten. Alex wird in das härteste Gefängnis Thailands verschleppt. Hier wird er oft zusammengeschlagen und lernt den Wachmann Demon kennen sowie den japanischen Kampfmeister Mr. Sun. Er weist Alex in den Kampfstil der „Eisernen Faust“ ein. Nachdem der Gefängnisdirektor Alex freigelassen hat, begibt er sich zum Kumite und trifft dort auf Demon und den Aufseher des Turniers Ray Jackson. Im Verlaufe des Filmes kommt es zum Finale zwischen Alex und Demon, das er für sich entscheiden kann.
