Danach wird über das Ergebnis gesprochen und anschließend stellt von Trier andere Bedingungen, unter denen Jorgen Leth den Film dann ein erneutes Mal drehen soll. Insgesamt wird der Film dann fünf Mal gedreht, und das Ergebnis ist erstaunlich.

Kathryn Bigelow – in der Szene vertraulich "KB" genannt – gilt als Powerfrau, kriegerisch und sexy zugleich. So vielfältig wie die Attribute der schwer fassbaren Regisseurin ist auch ihr "testosterongeladenes" Actionkino, das auch beim Publikum beliebt ist. Hayao Miyazaki - ein Name der untrennbar mit dem weltweit bekannten Animationsstudio Ghibli verknüpft ist. Gemeinsam mit Isao Takahata gründete er das berühmte Studio. Dass ihre Werke einmal national und international bekannt werden und besonders im Ausland weithin als Inbegriff von Anime gehandelt werden sollten, konnte damals niemand ahnen. Doch mit Filmen wie Mein Nachbar Totoro oder Chihiros Reise ins Zauberland hat sich Hayao Miyazaki und mit ihm Studio Ghibli unvergessen in die Herzen der Fans gebrannt. Doch Miyazaki gilt auch, wie die meisten Genies, als schwieriger Charakter, der nicht nur sich selbst immer wieder strengster Kritik unterzieht. Never-Ending Man begleitet Miyazaki auf der Suche nach dem Sinn im Ruhestand und seiner unvermeidlichen Rückkehr in die Welt des Anime. Dabei kommt er auch das erste Mal selbst in Kontakt mit 3D-Animation und schlüpft plötzlich in eine ungewohnte Rolle: die des Anfängers.
