Eine Gruppe Jugendlicher hat allen Grund zur Freude: Die Freunde wachen ganz plötzlich auf einer einsamen Insel auf und wissen nicht, was passiert ist. Im Jugendzentrum, in dem sie leben, scheint niemand mehr da zu sein, um auf sie aufzupassen – die perfekte Gelegenheit um ausgelassen zu feiern. Dann taucht plötzlich einer ihrer Betreuer auf, doch etwas stimmt nicht mit ihm: Er scheint Fieber zu haben und zittert am ganzen Körper. Als er die Jugendlichen angreift, bleibt ihnen nichts anderes übrig als ihn zu töten. Auf der Flucht bemerken sie dann, dass die ganze Insel wie verlassen wirkt. Die wenigen Erwachsenen, die noch da sind, scheinen von einer mysteriösen Krankheit befallen zu sein, die sie gewalttätig macht. Langsam wird klar, dass Kinder und Heranwachsende nicht davon betroffen sind. Um also zu überleben, gilt es nur noch eine wichtige Regel zu beachten: Man darf nicht älter werden! Dumm nur, dass einer aus der Gruppe demnächst volljährig wird...
