Der Film zeigt mehrere Frauen, deren Männer inhaftiert sind und mit großem Engagement versuchen, mit Klagen die Situation ihrer Männer zu verbessern, die nur sporadisch Kontakt zu ihrer Familie haben.

Avinash kommt nach Calcutta um seinen Sohn zu finden, der von den gleichen Männern entführt wurde, die auch seine Frau Sanjana umgebracht haben. In Calcutta bezieht Avinash ein Mietshaus und trifft dort auf Bulbul, die ihre Wohnung räumen mußte, weil sie die Miete nicht mehr zahlen konnte. Sie tut ihm leid und so läßt er sie in seinem Zimmer wohnen. Bulbul verliebt sich in Avinash, doch ihre Annäherungsversuche prallen an ihm ab, denn die Suche nach dem Sohn macht in für solche Dinge blind. Und die Mörder seiner Frau sind längst auch hinter ihm her und wollen ihn ausschalten…
