Im dritten Teil der Reihe rund um die Critters genannten plüschigen Kuschel-Killer werden die außerirdischen Fellkugeln via Campingbus in ein Mehrfamilienhaus eingeschleppt, das dem fiesen Vermieter Mr. Briggs gehört. Die Critters sind viele und sie haben Hunger. Das bekommen auch die Mieter der einzelnen Wohnungen zu spüren, die sich schon bald den grimmigen Critters gegenübersehen. Dazu gehören unter anderem auch Annie und Johnny die mit ihrem Vater in dem Haus wohnen. Nachdem die Critters erst einmal zum Angriff übergegangen sind, versuchen die Mieter sich im oberen Stock in Sicherheit zu bringen und die Außerirdischen abzuwehren. Mr. Briggs, der mithilfe hinterhältiger Methoden dafür sorgen will, dass die Mieter aus seinem Haus ausziehen, gerät ins Fadenkreuz der Critters, während sich sein Sohn Joshua mit den übrigen Bewohnern verschanzt. Aber die Critters geben nicht so leicht auf.
