Telecrime was a British drama series that aired on the BBC Television Service from 1938 to 1939 and in 1946. One of the first multi-episode drama series ever made, it is also one of the first television dramas written especially for television not adapted from theatre or radio. Having first aired for 5 episodes from 1938 to 1939, Telecrime returned in 1946, following the resumption of television after World War II, and aired as Telecrimes. A whodunit crime drama, Telecrime showed the viewer enough evidence to solve the crime themselves. Most episodes were written by Mileson Horton. All 17 episodes are lost. Aired live, their preservation was not technically possible at the time.

It was subsequently released on DVD, with other editions including one with English sub-titles, and one dubbed into Urdu. The series covers the events before the caliphate of Ali ibn Abi Talib to his assassination in Kufa, Iraq.

Als Hilfe stehen dem Kandidaten generell drei Joker zur Verfügung (Publikumsjoker, Telefonjoker, 50/50-Joker) – seit 2007 besteht zudem die Möglichkeit, einen Zusatzjoker einzufordern – die sichere Gewinnstufe von 16.000 Euro entfällt in diesem Fall jedoch.

Die dreiteilige True-Crime-Miniserie „Captive Audience: A Real American Horror Story“ stellt den Fall des siebenjährigen Steven Stayner in den Mittelpunkt, der im Jahr 1972 von dem verurteilten Sexualstraftäter Kenneth Eugene Parnell gekidnappt wurde. Sieben Jahre später konnte er – gemeinsam mit dem 5 Jahre alten Timmy White – entkommen und nach Hause zurückkehren. Insbesondere wird auf die folgenden Jahre eingegangen, in denen Steven mit dem erlebten Trauma und der folgenden medialen Aufmerksamkeit auf seinen Fall zurechtkommen musste und schließlich daran zerbrach. Noch schlimmer wird das Ganze, weil Stevens älterer Bruder Cary später als Serienmörder aktiv wird. Es handelt sich hier wirklich um eine amerikanische Horror-Geschichte.
