The series Ghorbat tells the story of women fighting for freedom while living under the oppression of a ruthless dictator. These women secretly plan to escape from his clutches, but to do so, they need financial resources. Desperation drives them to hatch a secret plan to steal from the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee, a governmental institution. However, just as they are on the verge of carrying out the heist, the dictator of the region, Ghorbat, captures them. In response, the dictator declares martial law, making life unbearable for the women. In secrecy, the women convene and decide that instead of fleeing, they must stand up to the dictator. Even if it means risking their lives, they are determined to fight for their freedom.

Yoshitaro Katayama (Masaki Aiba) became a police detective after having followed the will of his father who had been known as a great detective. However, Yoshitaro can never step into murder scenes because he faints whenever he sees blood, and criminals are able to easily slip away because he is afraid of heights. One day, hopeless Yoshitaro finds a calico cat that somehow understands what people say and sometimes shows great reasoning power. With the help of strange hints given by this cat, Yoshitaro luckily succeeds in solving the cases.
