Während dieser langen Zeit lebte Goku ohne Essen und Trinken, ist aber auch nicht gealtert. Son Goku besitzt einen äußerst offenen und fröhlichen Charakter und ist immer hungrig. Mit seiner Art schafft er es jedes mal wieder, den mürrischen Sanzo die Nerven zu rauben und dabei Schläge und Tritte zu kassieren.
