The first series premiered on 2 September 2010, in the same timeslot of Network Ten's police drama Rush. On 22 November 2010, the Nine Network cancelled the show due to the high production costs.

Dr. Gregory House, Arzt am fiktiven Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital, ist nicht gerade einfühlsam im Umgang mit Patienten und würde am liebsten gar nicht mit ihnen sprechen, wenn er damit ungeschoren davon kommen könnte. Obwohl sein Verhalten oft ans Unsoziale grenzt, ist House ein herausragender, wenn auch eigenbrödlerischer Mediziner, dessen unkonventionelle Denkweise und tadellosen Instinkte ihm großen Respekt eingebracht haben.
