Die dreiteilige True-Crime-Miniserie „Captive Audience: A Real American Horror Story“ stellt den Fall des siebenjährigen Steven Stayner in den Mittelpunkt, der im Jahr 1972 von dem verurteilten Sexualstraftäter Kenneth Eugene Parnell gekidnappt wurde. Noch schlimmer wird das Ganze, weil Stevens älterer Bruder Cary später als Serienmörder aktiv wird. Es handelt sich hier wirklich um eine amerikanische Horror-Geschichte.
