Stan klagt über Zahnschmerzen und er und Ollie gehen zum Zahnarzt. Aus Versehen kriegt Ollie seine Zähne gezogen. Unter dem Einfluss von Lachgas ziehen die beiden weiter und verursachen auf der Straße viel Lärm was einen Verkehrspolizist (Edgar Kennedy) stört. Dies ist Kennedys erster Auftritt in einem Laurel und Hardy Film.

Die beiden Fischmarkt-Arbeiter Stan und Ollie werden in einer Bar von einem Schiffskapitän überredet, für ihn für einen Dollar pro Kopf eine Crew zu shanghaien. Zuerst erfolgreich werden dann die Jungs selber geshanghaiet, und die Mannschaft gelobt Rache.

Am Morgen seiner Hochzeit mit der Tochter von Ölbaron Peter Cucumber erhält Ollie von Stan ein Puzzle als Hochzeitsgeschenk. Bald werden die Jungs vom Puzzle ganz in Anspruch genommen - ebenso wie ein Taxifahrer, ein Butler, ein Polizist und ein Laufbursche.
