Made over the course of several visits to the Scottish Borders by the French artist filmmaker Jacques Perconte, the film interrogates the Scottish borders unique heritage : sheep farming, fabrics, the woolen mill tradition and our unique landscapes are all rendered in an impressionistic arc of colour and movement. The path we drive leads to the heart of the Ettrick Forest, a dive into a textile world. A land where man, machinery and nature deal with a complex relationship that draws their future. Slipping through poetry, between the brutality of matter and the sublime landscape, we experience a penetrating vision that embodies the stability of our deep desire to live in peace. Spectators are aware of the impotence of our movements, and we know that nature will find its way.

Paul Schmidt sent me a set of five poems from a series called WAR SONGS. He treats the war in a brilliant and sarcastic way, evokes his seduction. Mark Bennett's score is itself provocative, languorous, and close to a waltz. The whole thing is a series of songs cast in the mode of melodrama, that is to say music in tandem with a narration. My contribution lies in the superimposition of war scenes, coupled with what I called an image of Gabriel: a young and handsome soldier, a personification of the good warrior, a protective image. Diesmal haben sich Wallace und Gromit zusammengetan, um einen Fensterputzdienst aufzuziehen. Auf diese Weise begegnet Wallace der wunderschönen Wendolene Ramsbottom, einer Wolladenbesitzerin, deren boshafter Hund Preston sich als der führende Kopf einer raffinierten Schafkidnapperbande herausstellt. Natürlich wäre kein Wallace-&-Gromit-Abenteuer komplett ohne eine neue grandiose technische Erfindung, und diesmal ist es Wallaces "Knit-O-Matic", ein garnproduzierender Strickomat, der in der Lage ist, eine ganze Schafherde zu scheren -- allerdings eine Spur zu effizient! Als der Bösewicht Preston das mechanische Strickwunder unter seine Kontrolle bekommt, muss Gromit zu Hilfe eilen...
