Die verfeindeten Brüder Dylan und Zach Massin haben seit Jahren den Kontakt abgebrochen. Da werden beide zu einem Einsatz auf dem Flugzeugträger USS Kittyhawk an den Persischen Golf abkommandiert. Lt.Dylan ist Elite Kampfpilot und Zach Gunnery Sergeant der Marines. Zachs Aufgabe ist es, in feindlichem Gebiet abgeschossene Piloten herauszuholden. Bei einem Einsatz über der irakischen Wüste wird Lt. Dylans Kampf-Jet getroffen.
