Mit spektakulären Aufnahmen öffnet er dabei den Blick auf eine Welt jenseits von Blüte und Honig, die man nicht so schnell vergessen wird.

Es ist eher ungewöhnlich, dass ein Dokumentarfilm eine Fortsetzung erlebt - doch der Erfolg von »Schmutzige Schokolade« legte dies nahe. Über die hohe Aufmerksamkeit hinaus erreichte die Doku 2010 ein angebliches Umdenken der weltweiten Kakaoindustrie. Es wurde versprochen, Kinderarbeit bei der Kakaobohnenernte abzuschaffen. Die jetzt vom NDR in Auftrag gegeben Nachfolge-Doku »Schmutzige Schokolade II« hat aufgedeckt, dass noch immer das Meiste im Argen liegt. Und wieder gibt sich die Schokoindustrie geläutert und verspricht Besserung.
