Jede Mannschaft besteht aus drei Schlägern (mit Stangen ausgerüstet), einem Verteidiger (mit Kette/n an einem Stab) und einem Läufer (meist klein, schnell und wendig).

Kriegsveteran Jeff Warren nimmt seinen Beruf bei der Eisenbahn wieder auf und verliebt sich in die junge Vicky.
