Er erzählt von den Problemen der Geretteten, von Depression und dem Schuldgefühl der Überlebenden.

Der Dokumentarfilm beleuchtet das erschütternde Ausmaß dieser Bewegung ebenso wie ihre zutiefst persönlichen Auswirkungen auf den Einzelnen. Im Verlauf eines ereignisreichen Jahres folgt der Film einer Reihe von bewegenden Geschichten von Menschen rund um die Welt durch 23 Länder, u.a. Afghanistan, Bangladesch, Frankreich, Griechenland, Deutschland, Irak, Israel, Italien, Kenia, Mexiko und Türkei.

Amin, 36 und anerkannter Akademiker, ist im Begriff, mit seinem langjährigen Lebensgefährten Casper zusammenzuziehen.
