Brunhild, die selbst in Siegfried verliebt ist, sinnt auf Rache und schmiedet gemeinsam mit dem heidnischen Ritter Hagen von Tronje finstere Pläne.

Jennifer Reeder versteht das Märchen auf einer sehr konkret sexuellen Grundlage.
