Menschen anderer Religionen wie Muslime oder Sikhs werden als Bürger zweiter Klasse behandelt. Die Angriffe auf Christen haben um 400 % zugenommen, begleitet von diskriminierenden Gesetzen gegen Muslime und weit verbreiteten Lynchmorden. Der Einfluss der Hindutva durchdringt alle Ebenen der Gesellschaft.
