"Maine-Ocean" is the name of a train that rides from Paris to Saint-Nazaire (near the ocean). In that train, Dejanira, a Brazilian, has a brush with the two ticket inspectors. Mimi, another traveler and also a lawyer, helps her. The four of them will meet together later and live a few shifted adventures with a strange-speaking sailor (Mimi's client).

Boy is the unsettling story of a young male prostitute, or Rent Boy, in a small rural town who learns the truth behind a hit and run accident which has killed a local girl. When the news of the girls death spreads through the community, the driver and his family decide that the boy must be silenced. The set out to scare him into silence. The pressure becomes more and more violent, but despite this, the boy battles to expose the truth.

Vasily Muravin, 50, a teacher at the Moscow Institute of Management, is experiencing a crisis. At work, the place of the head of the department is replaced by the more pragmatic, but limited person Valentin Romanovsky. At home, his wife Lida, who earns at work more than her husband, habitually reproaches him for indecision. "Nymph()maniac 2" umfasst die letzten dreieinhalb Kapitel von Lars von Triers zweigeteilten Drama über die bewegte Lebensgeschichte der Nymphomanin Joe. Die seelisch und körperlich verletzte Frau wird vom alternden Junggesellen Seligman aufgenommen und gepflegt. Sie berichtet ihm in langen Gesprächen davon, wie sie in ihrer langweiligen Beziehung zu Jerome verödete und plötzlich die Lust am Sex verlor. Aus der Verzweiflung heraus suchte sie den Sado-Maso-Künstler K auf, um über den Schmerz zur Lust zurückzufinden, gleichzeitig vernachlässigte Joe allerdings ihr Baby. Im Gespräch erfährt die verzweifelte Frau indes auch einiges über ihren geheimnisvollen Retter und dessen Geheimnis. Seligman ist nämlich asexuell; er hatte noch nie Sex, was ihm eine ganz eigene Perspektive auf Joes Lebenswandel ermöglicht…

When they were young, Min-joo and Seo-yeon cared for each other and were closer than brothers and sisters. However, she accidentally learns about Seo-yeon's tutor, Woo-hyeon, and because of this man, their 10-year friendship starts to become shaky. Meanwhile, Jeong-soo is hurt in seeing Min-joo like that, and so he distanced himself from Min-joo. Because of Min-joo and Seo-yeon's misunderstanding, Jeong-soo who couldn't care much might just leave so Min-joo tries to break up with the help of Seo-yeon. While in the process of breaking up, Min-joo and Seo-yeon went back to their close relationship. The love of women who have been separated because of man, and the two men's friendship is comically drawn.

Eddie Haley hat gerade seinen ersten Job als Lehrer bekommen und steht nun vor einer Klasse voll pubertierender Teenager. Diese haben bisher aber überhaupt keinen Aufklärungsunterricht bekommen. Über alle Maßen motiviert macht sich der Nachwuchslehrer also an die Aufgabe, nur hat er selber vom Thema so gut wie keine Ahnung, denn sein Liebesleben sieht eher traurig aus. Um der ihm anvertrauten Aufgabe angemessen nachkommen zu können, entschließt sich der Nachwuchs-Lehrer dazu, von den üblichen Lehr-Methoden abzuweichen, womit er aber den örtlichen Pfarrer Marcus Hamilton gegen sich aufbringt. Und dann verliebt sich Eddie auch noch in Pilar, die größere Schwester von einem seiner Mitschüler...

Oliver Twist wächst als Waise im Armenhaus auf, wird von einem Sargmacher adoptiert, läuft nach einem Streit davon und kommt nach London, wo er an eine Bande junger Taschendiebe und den zwielichtigen Fagin gerät. Es gelingt ihm zwischenzeitlich, der Bande zu entfliehen und er wird vom gütigen Mr. Brownlow adoptiert, doch lässt Fagin ihn erneut entführen und zwingt ihn, an einem Einbruch teilzunehmen. David Leans zweite Dickens-Adaption (nach "Geheimnisvolle Erbschaft" 1946) ist ein visuell aufwändiges Spektakel, ein Meisterwerk nicht nur wegen der höchst werktreuen Bildsprache, sondern auch durch Leans feines Gespür für Planung und Weitsicht, einer DER Klassiker des britischen Kinos. John Howard Davies ist sicher der empfindsamste Oliver aller Filmadaptionen des Romans. Alec Guinness als Fagin überzeugt durch kraftvoll theatralische Darstellung, übernimmt aber auch Dickens‘ fein gestrickte Ironie ...
