Kumar Agnihotri belongs to a wealthy family, consisting of his dad, Madan, and mom, Janki. He is in love with beautiful Mala Bajpai, and they hope to marry soon with the blessings of their respective parents. Kumar's other passion is boxing, which Janki loathes, and hopes that he will give this up soon. When the Agnihotris bring home a woman named Ganga, and introduce her to Kumar as Janki's childhood friend, Kumar finds out that Ganga is his biological mother, and his father, Ajay Kumar, was the National Champion in boxing, who was killed by three men for refusing to lose a fight. While Janki is afraid that she is going her son to Ganga, Kumar has decided to avenge his biological's father's death by any means, little realizing that he may face the same fate his father did years ago.

Eine Leiche in der Saale gibt den beiden Hauptkommissaren Zorn und Schröder Rätsel auf. Der Tote war Staatsanwalt Meinolf Grünbein und lebte völlig unauffällig. Während sie Antworten auf die vielen offenen Fragen suchen, wird Schröder angefahren. Der flüchtige Fahrer ist Strafverteidiger und hat eine Gemeinsamkeit mit dem toten Staatsanwalt: Beide waren in einen Prozess um den vermögenden Geschäftsmann Elias de Koop involviert. Nur ein Zufall? Neben dem Job hat Zorn auch noch Probleme mit Malina, die einen Freund bei sich einquartiert hat. Zorn bekommt seine Eifersucht einfach nicht in den Griff.

Der Hauptcharakter ist ein ungewöhnlich großes und fülliges Kaninchen („Big Buck Bunny“), das sich zu Beginn des Films an Blumen und Schmetterlingen erfreut. Als jedoch das Flughörnchen Frank, das Eichhörnchen Rinky und das Chinchilla Gamera auftauchen, zwei Schmetterlinge töten und das Kaninchen mit Früchten und Nüssen bewerfen, beschließt es, seine Sanftmütigkeit abzulegen und an den Nagetieren Rache zu nehmen. Dazu baut es verschiedene Fallen auf.

In einem schicken Pariser Café stellt ein verklemmter Geschäftsmann fest, dass er sein Portemonnaie vergessen hat, und vertreibt sich die Zeit, indem er mehr Kaffee bestellt.
