In “Standard Operating Procedure” untersucht der Dokumentarfilmer Errol Morris den unmittelbaren Kontext dieser Bilder. Warum wurden sie gemacht? Was zeigen sie nicht, was lassen sie aus? Morris spricht sowohl mit den Soldaten, die damals auf den Auslöser gedrückt haben als auch mit denen, die auf den Fotos zu sehen sind. Wer sind diese Menschen? Was haben sie sich dabei gedacht?
