Was einst schon Hannibal konnte, das kann Brooks schon lange. Auf ihrer Flucht stoßen Brooks und Lucy des Öftern auf den Partisanen Packy, der in Österreich gegen die Deutschen kämpft. Gemeinsam erleben sie einige Abenteuer mit einer spektakulären Zugentgleisung entlang der Montafonerbahn auf dem Weg in die neutrale Schweiz.

The sailor is unwell. Believe it or not, the young man had never eaten fish before until this very night. There seemed to be nothing else on the menu, so why not? In the midst of various strange companions and spectators, he starts to reminisce about home while cutting up his dinner. Da tauschen sie ihren letzten Besitz, eine gutmütige Kuh, ein gegen eine Handvoll Zauberbohnen. Und tatsächlich erwächst aus den Bohnen eine riesige Pflanze, an der die drei Freunde hinaufgelangen können in eine andere, üppigere Welt, in der ein Riese haust. Sie machen sich auf die Suche nach der Harfe, denn von ihr hängt das Glück des gesamten Tals ab…
