Als es der Gruppe endlich gelingt, in die Gegenwart überzuwechseln, finden sie dort brachiale Verwüstung vor: Die Freisetzung der Substanz Haava durch den Alienanführer Controller forderte bereits Tausende von Leben. Ean, Thunder und Muruk bleibt nicht viel Zeit, die Außerirdischen zur Strecke zu bringen und die Menschheit zu retten.

Dazu muss er sich allerdings bereiterklären, der Polizei bei ihren Ermittlungen in der Kopenhagener Gang-Szene zu helfen. Die Sehnsucht, endlich seinen Sohn wiederzusehen, ist groß, doch er steht vor einem moralischen Dilemma: Er muss entscheiden, ob er seine Prinzipien über Bord werfen und mit den Behörden zusammenarbeiten soll, um seinen Sohn wieder in die Arme schließen zu können.
